Los relatos sobre Sherlock Holmes que componen lo escrito por Sir Arthur Conan Doyle van distribuidos en el siguiente orden que a continuación ofrecemos. Cabe resaltar, de igual modo, que todos los relatos están relatados en primera persona por el doctor Watson, salvo “La aventura de la melena de león” que está narrado por Sherlock Holmes y “La aventura de la piedra de Mazarino” y “Su última reverencia” que están narrados en tercera persona, al igual que el ligeramente fuera del canon “Cómo Watson aprendió el truco”. En algunas ediciones, el inicio del título “La aventura de…”, tanto en inglés como en castellano, está eliminado.
